Cage the Elephant Sets 713Music Hall, in Houston Ablaze with Raw Energy and Emotion!

Some concerts light a spark, this one set the whole room on fire. Cage the Elephant brought their

Neon Pill Tour to 713 Music Hall on October 6, and Houston showed up ready for chaos,

connection, and catharsis.

The night kicked off with Girl Tones, and they wasted no time waking up the crowd. Their

energy hit like a shot of caffeine loud guitars, tight drums, and vocals that carried grit and

melody in equal measure. There was nothing “opening act” about their set; it felt like a band with

something to prove and every reason to be there. Their confidence set the tone perfectly for what

was coming.

Then came hey, nothing, who shifted gears completely. Their set brought a dreamier, emotional

edge slower tempos, softer harmonies, and lyrics that stuck with you. It was a change of pace

that gave the crowd a moment to breathe before the storm. The way they captured quiet emotion

in such a massive room said a lot about their control and artistry.

When Matt Shultz finally appeared, barefoot and brimming with restless energy, the place

erupted. “Broken Boy” cracked open the set like a lightning bolt, and it never really slowed

down from there. “Cry Baby,” “Cold Cold Cold,” and “Mess Around” turned the floor into a

jumping sea of bodies. Every song felt urgent, every lyric shouted back like an echo.

Shultz’s performance bordered on spiritual chaos part preacher, part rock ’n’ roll ghost. You

couldn’t look away. Then, as “Cigarette Daydreams” rolled in, everything softened. Thousands

of voices sang in unison, and for a moment, the noise became something beautiful.

They closed with “Come a Little Closer,” and it felt like the perfect release sweaty, loud, and

unforgettable. Walking out, you could still feel the echo of the night pulsing through the parking

lot. Cage the Elephant didn’t just perform; they brought Houston to life.
